§ 16-230. Employees pensions.

  • (a)

    The employees and officers of Prince George's County, Maryland, on behalf of whom contributions are paid, as provided in Division II, State Personnel and Pensions Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, shall be entitled to all the benefits under the Employees Retirement System of the State or the Pension System for the Employees of the State, as may be applicable, as though they were State employees.

    (b)

    Elected or appointed officials of Prince George's County, on behalf of whom contributions are paid as provided in Division II, State Personnel and Pensions Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, shall be entitled to the maximum benefits provided under the Employees Retirement System of the State or the Pension System for the Employees of the State, as may be applicable, and the County shall pay the contributions required to obtain the maximum benefits.
