§ 27-445.11. Golf courses.

  • (a)

    Property on which there is a legally operating golf course shall immediately be placed in the Open Space (O-S) Zone once such use ceases to exist, until the District Council approves another zone for the property. A golf course use ceases on the first date when golfers (members of the public or members of the golf club) are prohibited on a permanent basis from playing on the course. The course operator, within thirty (30) days, shall send notice of the date golf course operations ceased by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement, the Planning Director, each municipality within a mile of the course, each civic association covering any part of the course, and each owner whose property adjoins the course.
