§ 12-143. Ice boxes or refrigerators.

  • When there is evidence of rodents harboring in or entering built-in ice boxes or refrigerators, all openings used by rodents are required to be sealed with twenty-six (26) gauge or heavier metal, and if necessary the junction of the ice boxes with the floor and walls shall be flashed with twenty-four (24) gauge or heavier metal. If the built-in iceboxes or refrigerators rest on the surface of the ground the Health Officer may require that curtain walls be installed around the periphery in the same manner as those used for imperfect foundations of buildings.
